Dudley Regeneration

Lower Church Lane, Tipton - Road closure

What’s happening?

Work is happening in Dudley to improve the town centre. During work the way you travel around Dudley will be different. It will happen in stages to minimise disruption.

The work includes:

  • a tram extension between Brierley Hill and Dudley
  • a new transport hub 
  • redevelopment of the Portersfield area of Dudley town centre
  • road improvements

Lower Church Lane, Tipton - Road closure

There will be a closure on Lower Church Lane from Monday 26 October followed by the closure of Horseley road to allow structural assessments to be carried out two bridges. Both closures are expected to last for up to two weeks. 

Clear signed diversion routes will be in place to assist motorists who need to travel during his time while pedestrian diversion will also be in place.

Please be advised that all work been undertaken is done so in line with the government's social distancing standard, and we have updated all our safety procedures to sure they align with the latest government guidance.

You will still be able to get to where you need to go, but consider the following:

Plan ahead and leave more time for your journey. If you travel, you’ll need more time for your journey to take account of changes and diversions.
Consider using another route where possible. Check apps that show traffic levels before leaving.
